Living Room Re-do

So I bought this 100 year old hand carved armoire from an antique store years ago, I actually paid only $300 for it even though when I went to put it on lay a way the lady told me "oh I don't think he meant to sell it for that price, I think that's what he paid for it" So I politely (sorta) replied "it's 3:00 ya'll have been open since 10am and your just now noticing that big ol' price tag is wrong??? Sorry but I'll just pay for it and take it with me now!" She just looked at me and couldn't say much......so it went home with me!  So I have been wanting to paint it for YEARS but everyone says "OMG WHY would you put paint on an antique like that?? You can't deface it!" Well we have dark wood floors, had a dark brown sofa, dark brown TV stand and everything was just too much darkness, and y'all know what the good book says about darkness vs. light! LOL

SO......deface it I finally did! And dang it looks amazing!!!
Even hubby was impressed!

Add a new rug and new sofas and the place is finally brightened up a bit!!

Christmas Crafts 2015

So I didn't get to make everything I pinned on Pinterest but I got some stuff done! These ice skates sold the first week in the shop!

This was for me!

Everybody loves the little red trucks!

I loved making this! Too bad it's so hard to find vintage ornament boxes!

I love all the vintage goodness in this!

Should have made more of these

I went nuts and made tons of these! They were so fun to make

Christmas Wreaths

So I want a little nuts this year making ornament wreaths, but I gotta say they didn't do well in the shop! It hey are priced right so not sure why they didn't sell! I'm very sad, but on a happy note, aren't they so awesome?

The cookie wreathes sold quick!

Can't believe this beauty is still at the shop!

Made this one for ME!

I just KNEW the elf wreath would sell....NOT!

LOVE the feather wreath

Christmas 2015

Christmas decor went up on 1 November this year, though I heard a lot of griping about "its too early" I ignored them and did it anyway. That way I get at least 2 full months to enjoy!

Hmmmm....not my best work....

Couldn't pass up the vintage toy truck

One of my favorite stores in town is Homestead Handcrafts in San Antonio. I always find a ton of stuff!! Lots of vendors with amazing finds. So this year my mom and I went because I was on the hunt for more vintage Christmas stuff, I don't have enough ya know? And she kept griping at me every time I added something to my basket, saying "what are you going to do with that?" Or "you don't need any more" I turn around and tell her " if YOU didn't get rid of all this crap from childhood I wouldn't need to be paying triple the amount to recapture my everything " LOL

Vintage toys

I can't believe how expensive the cheapy dime store Christmas decorations from the 50's are nowadays! This plastic sleigh was a steal for $9.00

Vintage toy store display. Shout out to my cousin Susen Cortez for making me the fabulous snowman with the tall black hat!!

My tree with all my vintage ornaments

I need more places for all my stuff!!

My latest creation! I couldn't part with him so I kept him!

Ahh....my highly coveted pink Santa

My Bethany Lowe wreath

I finally collected enough vintage ornaments in just the right colors to make a wreath for me! I found so many on Etsy but couldn't pay $300-$400 😁

My shabby display

I can never have enough little glitter houses!! I found these vintage style reindeer at World Market, I had to have them even though they were too damn pricy!!

Love is in The Air

I don't usually decorate my home for Valentines Day, but this year I decided to go all out. I guess it was the sadness of having to put my Christmas stuff away, so I felt if I decorate for valentines it would make me feel better.  My mom always celebrated all the holidays and I remember her doing something special for us kids on Valentines Day.   Last year I made a lot of things for the shop, and was quite surprised that not much sold, so this year I decided to make stuff for me!

This is the beautiful banner I made. It took forever mainly because I had to re-glitter the letters because I didn't use glass glitter to begin with! This banner is made with vintage music sheets are

This year I wanted to collect vintage heart candy boxes, BUT those damn things cost a fortune! So I was able to find one on EBAY, for a reasonable price, then I found a very unique shaped box at Suzie's Gift & Thrift store. The one with the music sheet music I made, along with the others

this is my hutch, it's always getting a make over. I used some of my Christmas stuff that was red and pink since the colors are perfect for Valentines Day.

I saw this on Pinterest and fell in love with it, so I made one for me!

This is in my dining room. I didn't want to put my pink santa away just yet, so I added a valentine, so he fits right in with the next holiday! I repurposed one of my many Christmas Trees into a Valentine Tree.

I love how my Shirly Temple came out. Her red polka dot dress was too perfect for Valentines decorating!

I love vintage Valentines and downloaded way too many!

This is my entry way, I used a vintage wedding picture and vintage wedding cake toppers from my collection! I need to put my moms wedding picture in this display too!

I wanted to buy this paper mâché clown but he was $75!! Way more than I wanna pay for that so,......I made my own and LOVE how it turned out!

Here's a close up. I attached him to a stand. He's about 15 inches tall.

This was a christmas ornament that I pulled apart to create something else!

Thanks for looking!
